So, how’s the Mum liking America? What does Mariah and Caira think of her?

Mum left for Ireland yesterday; happy, tired and overwhelmed. She’s of the same opinion of me about living here, namely that while there are some great things in America that we simply don’t have back home in Ireland, at the end of the day the greenery, quietness and slower pace of Galway is what she wants in her heart of hearts.
Some things outright shocked her: Legalized prostitution and good food service are two off the top of my head, and Viagra advertisements just plain tickled her.
Both herself and Josephine loved Caira and didn’t hold back in showering love and gifts upon her. Caira in turn was an absolute show-off for Mee Mee and Jo Jo once she got over her shyness.

I hope you explained that you can only buy yourself a legal hooker in Nevada, outside of the strip. At least Caira was used to the fruity loop accent already!

Caira loves Irish accents, in truth, and she’s halfway to one of her own already.

Brian has a great one, himself. I wonder where his could have come from.

I absolve myself of any blame because AFAIK I’ve never spoken to him.

They loved that she says “Aye” instead of “Yes” and says “Noo” instead of “No”. I still have no idea where she picked up “Mammy” from, either.

I blame those Father Ted DVDs.
