Free scanner +1

An old HP scanner/printer was being dumped at work as it’s feed mechanism has been destroyed, but I was allowed take it as it still scans just fine. It’ll be tomorrow before I get at most of the old photos - Jenn is the keeper of all our family photos and she’s in bed, but I’ve scanned in those few I do have on hand:

Kilmainham

Since this is a photo blog, I supposed I’m required to deliver a photo as compensation for all my rantings. This is a non-tone mapped HDR photo from three exposures, composed in Photoshop. I took it the snaps during the boards.ie trip to Kilmainham, but I’ve had it sitting on my hard drive since then. So eh, here it is:

So I went to (a) church today

St. Nicholas’ church down off Shop Street, where I put my 18-55, 28 and 50mm lenses all to good use - out of these three photos, one was taken with each lens. The 50mm is great for detail work, the 28mm for capturing a room in detail and the 18-55mm when I’m feeling lazy:
