Cats and drugs

Fleabag

I hope the day never comes that I find my cat on hash. As it is, when she’s hungry Killer will hop onto the nearest counter/desk/cupboard and start knocking stuff off until she’s fed. Woe is us if she doesn’t like the food. There’s nothing being woken up at 5am to the sight and sound of Killer headbutting new camera from my desk.

Bitch. In her defense, she posed beautifully for a photo on Tuesday:

Meetings

I met Mike and Katie down at the Long Walk last night and spent about two hours shooting with them around the docks. I gave Mike learned instructions in the use of an IR filter and generally had a great time. Some cracking photos resulted, but I’ve had nary a chance to go through them yet. Fie. I shot the Statoil compound in paticular - I haven’t yet stitched the shots, so here’s one I made earlier. You can all make do with this for now:

And finally, Mattie, whom I went to school with. I’m tired and pictures speak a thousand words, so:

About 1300 photos so far, gods above help me.

Soccerball

I was asked by Stevie at work to go and photograph their weekly footie game on Wednesday. It was a fascinating learning experience for me; I can really appreciate the skill and dedication sports photographers need to get their amazing shots. Out of 1326 total photos, I had 103 good photos, and out of those I had 14 worthy of actually putting up on Flickr. I’ve also realised I’m starting to hit against the limits of my gear, so I’ve decided to sell most of my current kit and order a 30D from Hong Kong.

And also that I really abuse vignetting and that I should stop.

Hmmph

I guess yesterady wasn’t such a complete writeoff after all. I managed to get a few (94 :) photos of a street soccer match out behind the Jervis shopping centre before the gang of teenagers chased me off..literally. I dropped down to medium jpeg resolution, set the camera to monochrome and started snapping madly. Considering the only lens with me was the 50mm I’m happy that any came out okay.
